The North Carolina Digital Heritage Center recently completed the digitization of the Bronco Voice.  Almost two years ago, the university’s archives completed an inventory of the Bronco Voice which included the arrangement, documentation and an evaluation of its physical condition.  Preservation measures were taken and the collection re-housed in archival-quality enclosures and boxes.  The digitization of this collection enables it to be accessed 24/7, downloaded and printed.

The newspapers date from February 1946 to October 2011 which periodic gaps.  It is an excellent source of information on student life and activities, sports and other information relating to Fayetteville State University.  Moreover, it imparts the mindset of the students, faculty and administration during the last 65 years that the newspapers document.

Previously, the Heritage Center digitized the Archives Department’s collection of FSU Yearbooks which span the following dates: 1947, 1958-2009.  As with the school newspaper, the yearbooks can be accessed 24/7, downloaded and printed.  Digitization of the yearbooks and school newspaper also helps ensure the longevity of the originals for posterity.
