Fayetteville State University’s public radio station WFSS 91.9 FM, your place for jazz and news, continues to enhance its programming—a primary goal of the station. To that end, we are pleased to announce two new announcers on Midday Jazz, 9 am – 3 pm, and The Jazz Spot, 7 pm – 10 pm, Monday – Thursday. Ms. Omega Jones is on during Midday Jazz and Mr. Rick Garvin is on during The Jazz Spot. Both Ms. Jones and Mr. Garvin bring decades of experience to WFSS as radio professionals and announcers.
Omega Jones is a 30-year broadcast veteran. She brings a wealth of experience as an on-air broadcaster as well as in the areas of radio production and program management. In the Fayetteville area, Ms. Jones has been a well-known radio personality for decades having worked at several radio stations, including WUKS (Kiss 107.7FM), WFLB (Oldies 96.5), and WZFX (Foxy 99).
Rick Garvin is also a 30-year broadcast veteran. He brings vast experiences as an on-air broadcaster as well, having worked at WEGX (Eagle 92.9 FM) in South Carolina, WVBS-FM and WWQQ in Wilmington (NC), WFAI in Fayetteville, and WAPE and WJEE in Florida. In addition to Mr. Garvin’s extensive experiences as an on-air announcer, he has also worked as a news director.
Listen to Omega, 9 am to 3 pm, and Rick, 7 pm to 10 pm, Monday through Thursday on WFSS 91.9 FM.
