Fayetteville State University Dance Ensemble
The Fayetteville State University (FSU) Dance Ensemble and Friends will present “An Evening of Dance” on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 7:00pm in Seabrook Auditorium. The performance will feature choreograph from Assistant Professor of Dance Avis Hatcher Puzzo and graduating seniors in the dance minor.
Dances include “I Am Not Here/Peace Be Still” which was presented at the 2012 Black College Dance Exchange Conference held at Prairie View A&M University in Texas. The FSU dance ensemble was inducted into the national organization in April 2012. There will also be a premiere of the ensemble piece “Out of Chaos.”
The Black Millennium Modeling Club will perform their routine which won first-place on February 9, 2013, at the annual modeling competition entitled “My Style, My Swag, My Show” held at East Carolina University.
The FSU Dance Ensemble is an educational repertory dance company that performs on and off campus. With solid, consistent training in Horton modern dance technique, in addition to jazz and African dance styles, the FSUDE believes that dance is a discipline as well as an art form. Students are required to take at least one dance class to be eligible for the ensemble, and auditions are held in the fall, with performances in the spring.
